JIMTOF 2024 – Programs announced
JIMTOF 2024 (The 32nd Japan International Machine Tool Fair), one of the largest machine tool exhibitions in the world, organized by the Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association and Tokyo Big Sight Inc., will be held at Tokyo Big Sight for six days, November 5 (Tue.) to November 10 (Sun.), 2024.
Pre-registration for admission began on September 2. At this year’s JIMTOF 2024 a new “Academic Area” will be opened in south hall 4 for a wide range of students, regardless of whether they are arts or science. It will provide an opportunity for direct communication between students interested in the manufacturing industry and exhibitors. In addition a special parallel exhibition, “Additive Manufacturing Area in JIMTOF 2024” will be held on the 1st floor of the south exhibition hall.
Academic Area
JIMTOF 2024 will open a new “Academic Area” for students in south hall 4. By connecting exhibitors with the students, who will lead the next generation of the manufacturing industry, the area will provide them with information that will be useful for their future career choices and job- hunting activities while encouraging their interest in the world of manufacturing.
Keynote speech and special lectures
On November 5 (Tue.), the first day, Mr. Akihiro Teramachi, chairman and CEO of THK Co., Ltd, and Mr. Shiro Nakamura, president of SN Design Platform, will deliver keynote speeches under the title “Bringing your dreams to manufacturing! THK’s pursuit of new-concept of EV”. Also Mr. Mitsuru Kawai, executive fellow, Toyota Motor Corporation, Mr. Teruyuki Iwasaka, executive officer, ICI Center, Maeda Corporation and Ms. Akiko Otsuka, executive director, space women, gender equality committee, Japan Rocket Association.
Additive manufacturing area
As a special parallel exhibition of JIMTOF 2024, “Additive Manufacturing Area in JIMTOF 2024” will be held on the 1st floor of the south exhibition hall, where AM/3D printing related products and technologies will be gathered. In the organizer’s seminar hall various seminars on AM/3D printing will be held on a daily basis. In addition exhibitor workshops and organizer’s exhibits will be held.
