Handtmann offers a variety of modular and flexible production solutions for pet food manufacturing. Mixing, filling and portioning, cutting/dividing, forming, dosing or co-extruding a wide variety of products are their core functions. The production of formed products and treats as cubes, bars, pellets, balls, hearts and more, but also the dosing of wet food or BARF in trays, cans and cups is possible in addition to the production of linked pet food sausages. The outstanding feature of all systems is the exceptional portioning accuracy owing to the vane cell feed system in the basic machine, the vacuum filler. This weight accuracy significantly reduces costs, especially when processing highquality products. Also, the unique and very gentle mixing technology of the Handtmann Inotec can be optimally used for numerous applications in pet food production.
One of the production solutions of Handtmann is the range of forming systems. It is characterized above all by its flexible use in many different areas of application, from soft product consistencies to firm products. In addition, a large variety of shapes is possible with countless options, such as round, square, oblong, 3D shapes in dog bone form and more. The FS 510 forming system with 24- lane flow divider, i.e. in simulated 24- lane production, will be emonstrated on the stand with substitute material. Here the filling product is fed to the flow divider by a VF 800 vacuum filler. The servo-driven flow divider ensures precise rotor speed in the flow divider. The result is a continuous product flow without pressure fluctuations, and thus accurate final weights. The flow divider ejects the filling product in multi-lane filling flows via mould components. The desired product shape is created using forming tubes positioned at the outlet. The shape can be changed easily and quickly by exchanging the forming tubes. Product separating is performed directly at the outlet, either with a wire or with a blade; it is uninterrupted and linear to the product speed. Production can be onto racks and trays as well as onto a conveyor belt. The vacuum filler’s control system allows easy visualisation of the product shape and calculation of the process parameters. This solution will be demonstrated at the Anuga FoodTec Cologne as well as at the Interzoo Show in Nuremberg.
The processes and individual products are controlled by the universal and imagesupported INOTEC Process Sequence Control user interface. The clear and intuitive INOTEC Touch iT control system is used to enter the mixing parameters as well as to automatically set and save all product and production parameters. The patented CamView system for visual process monitoring ensures an optimal, continuous process. With the VarioMix, both aggressive and gentle mixing are possible. The mixing spirals operate in individually adapted wave patterns and they are independently adjustable in speed and direction of rotation. The usable volume of the VarioMix ranges from 350 to 4,000 liters and always provides sufficient power reserves thanks to generously designed drives. It is therefore perfectly suited for the production of a wide variety of products in small batches, but is also ideal for rubbing large pieces of meat. A large variety of different products can thus be covered with a single machine. In addition, the VarioMix is ideally suited for continuous use in industrial highperformance production thanks to its high-quality components.
