FIMMA – Maderalia 2020: next edition to take place at the end of November this year

Aim is to ensure complete safety for visitors and exhibitors as well as commercial success for the event, originally slated to run from 2nd to 5th June.

Exhibition content and power to draw visitors set to remain unchanged, going into a quarter of the year poised to see the global trade fair calendar return to full normality.

  • FIMMA – Maderalia 2020 will now take place this coming November, at Feria Valencia. The decision to delay the event, which was originally due to run from 2nd to 5th June, was driven by the extension of the legally enforceable restrictions introduced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the difficulties they pose in terms of holding an international event such as FIMMA – Maderalia.

Aware of these challenges, the Organising Committees of both FIMMA and Maderalia have been working with Feria Valencia to find new dates for the biennial fair to be able to take place towards the end of the year. The aim is to ensure both that exhibitors and visitors will be completely safe and also that the leading players in the industry attend and the event is a commercial success. The timing should coincide with the economy picking up again.

FIMMA – Maderalia 2020 will therefore be taking place a reasonable length of time after the health crisis has been overcome and with the certainty that the global trade fair calendar will have returned to normal. This is validated by the fact that the Spanish biennial is now scheduled to take place towards the end of the year, after two other major Italian global exhibitions: SICAM (October) and Xylexpo (mid-November).

The fair having now moved to the end of 2020 also means, coincidentally, that FIMMA – Maderalia is returning to its traditional dates in the last quarter of the year. This timing changed in 2014 but this year’s move marks a return to a time of year the industry thinks of as its own.

In this new scenario of a return to normality, Feria Valencia will be ensuring that all the health, hygiene and containment protocols are in place in order for  FIMMA Maderalia to be a completely safe environment and an event that facilitates the industry’s recovery.
